Transgenik Canlılar ve Akuakültürdeki Önemi.

Abstract

Transgen teknolojisi kısaca, bir türe ait genin aynı veya başka bir türe aktarılmasına olanak sağlanması şeklinde ifade edebiliriz. Günümüzde bu teknoloji gen düzenlenmesi, bağışıklık sistemi, kanser araştırmaları ve gelişim biyolojisini de içeren biyomedikal alanlarda uygulanmaktadır. Ancak, hala üzerinde yoğun çalışmalar yapılan teknolojilerden biri olan transgenik hayvan üretiminde çiftlik hayvanlarının genetik alt yapılarının geliştirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Soğukkanlı canlılarda ilk kez 1985’li yıllarda uygulanan transgen teknolojisinde temel hedef; soğuğa, düşük oksijene, hastalığa karşı balıklarda toleransın arttırılması ve hızlı büyüme elde edilmesi şeklindedir
