The length-weight relationships, and meat yield of crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823) in the Mamasın Reservoir (Aksaray, Turkey)

Abstract

In this study, the relationships between length-weight, and meat yield of freshwater crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus) in the Mamasın Reservoir were investigated. It was found a relationships between total length and total weight of 550 male and female individulas. There was no significiant differences between male and female in terms of total length (P>0.05), howewer, there was significiant differences between male and female in terms of total weight (P<0.05). The abdomen width and length of females were found to be significantly larger and longer than that of males (P<0.001). Howewer, the chelae width, chelae length and cheliped length of males were found to be significiantly larger and longer than that of females (P<0.001). Although there was not a significant difference in the abdomen meat yield between males and females (P>0.05), there were a significant difference in the chelae and total meat yield between males and females (P<0.001).

Mamasın Baraj Gölü (Aksaray-Türkiye) Tatlısu İstakozu (Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823)’nun Boy-Ağırlık İlişkisi ve Et Verimi

Abstract

Mamasın Baraj Gölü (Aksaray-Türkiye) Tatlısu İstakozları (Astacus leptodactylus)’nda boy-ağırlık ilişkisi ve et verimi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada incelenen toplam 550 adet erkek ve dişi kerevitin, total boy ve total ağırlıkları arasında pozitif bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Erkek ve dişi bireylerin total boyları arasında fark görülmezken (P>0.05), total ağırlıkları arasında fark belirlenmiştir (P<0.05). Dişi kerevitlerin abdomen genişliği ve uzunluğu erkek bireylere göre daha fazla bulunmuştur (P<0.001). Erkek bireylerin ise, karapaks genişliği, kıskaç uzunluğu, kıskaç genişliği, kıskaç ayak uzunluğu dişi bireylerden fazla bulunuştur (P<0.001). Erkek ve dişi kerevitlerin abdomenlerinden elde edilen et verimleri karşılaştırıldığında farkın önemli olmadığı anlaşılmıştır (P>0.05). Fakat erkek kerevitlerin kıskaçlarından elde edilen et verimi ile toplam et verimleri dişilerden önemli derecede fazla saptanmıştır (P<0.001). Dişilerden elde edilen toplam et oranı, vücut ağırlığının % 12.76’sını, erkeklerde ise %14.83’ünü oluşturmuştur (P<0.05).
