Investigation of growth features of Rudd (Scardinius erythrophthalmus L., 1758) population in Uluabat Lake
Abstract
In this study, the growth properties of Rudd (Scardinius erythrophthalmus L., 1758) population living in Uluabat Lake were investigated. The ages of caught 650 fish samples ranged from I-VII which was caught from January to December 2006. The population was composed of 72.46 % females and 27.54 % males (1:0.38). The fork lengths and weights of caught samples on female and male varied from 9.9 to 25.2cm, and 10.0 to 23.2 cm and 15 to 306 g and 16 to 257 g, respectively. The length – weight relation was determined W=0.00991L3.217. The average of condition factor was determined 1.846±0.008 for females, 1.810±0.011 for males, and 1.833±0.006 for both of sex combined.
