Rotifer fauna of Lake Yayla (Denizli-Turkey)

Abstract

The rotifer fauna of Lake Yayla was studied seasonally between 2000- 2002. The rotifer samples were collected by using plankton net with the mesh size of 55 µm horizontally and preserved in 4 % formaldehyde. As a result, 64 taxa in 17 families were identified and reported firstly from Lake Yayla. Besides, Colurella uncinata deflexa, Lepadella (H.) heterostyla and Lepadella (L.) patella oblonga are new species for the Turkish inland waters fauna.
