Biochemical compositions of the Abant Trout (Salmo trutta abanticus T., 1954) and Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss W., 1792) were fed with extruded pellet diet in culture conditions.

Abstract

In this study, Abant trout larvae (mean weight 0.087±0.00 g) obtained from eggs of wild Abant trout broodstock in Abant lake and rainbow trout larvae (0.100±0.00 g) obtained from eggs of the cultured broodstock in Gölköy Fish Production Station were fed with extruded pelet diet for 350 days in culture conditions. At the end of day 350, final mean weights of Abant and rainbow trout was found as 4.966±0.36 g, 154.75±10.75 g respectively. Crude protein, crude fat, moisture, ash and carbohydrate of Abant and rainbow trout cultured in culture conditions were analysed to determine the biochemical compositions of them. Crude protein, crude fat, moisture, ash and carbohydrate of rainbow trout being mean weight 154.75±10.75 g and Abant trout mean weight 4.966±0.36 g was 17%, 1.62%, 78.06%, 1.42% and 2.52% and 19%, 1.44%, 78.02%, 1.20%and 2.46% respectively. Abant trout was appeared to be weaker because of its Cf<1 value. There was significant differences in Condition factor between both species (P<0.001).
