Veli Süme was born in Zile Tokat. He graduated Licence from Gazi University, Technical
Education Faculty, Construction (infrastructure) Department in 1982, his master's degree
(MSc) from Karadeniz Technical University, Civil Engineering in hydraulics main branch in
1992, and his doctorate (Ph.D.) in 1996 from the same year. Dr. Süme worked as a
construction engineer at Yapı Merkezi A.Ş. in Istanbul. At Karadeni z Technical University
and Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Technical Sciences Vocational School, Department of
Construction, and taught as an instructor He has published 5 professional scientific books, 3
poetry books, and more than 100 national and international articles, papers, and research.
He works on hydraulics, fluid mechanics, coastal structures, sea level changes, coastal
surveys, and water-based energy production. It specializes in the T Groins specifically 9
months at the Bolton School of Higher Education in England He taught in Florida
International University (FIU) in the Civi l Engineering Department for one year. Dr Sume is
a refereed international member of the Editorial Board of Engineering and Science Journals.
He also serves as the founder, member of the editorial board, and editor of the Turkish
Journal of Hydraulics. This journal is published internationally in Turkish and English.
Currently, Dr. Veli Sume since 2018, has worked as an Associate Professor in the
Department of Civil Engineering at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University. It trains
undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students and conducts many research projects.
