A preliminary study on the biological diversity of Bozalan Lake (Menemen- İzmir)

Abstract

 Aim of this study is taxonomical determination of biological diversity of Bozalan Lake which situated in the boundaries of Menemen county, İzmir. Biological and water samplings were performed at different dates between 2001 and 2005. At the end of study, totally 122 taxa were determined; of them 7 belong to Cyanophyta, 24 to Chlorophyta, 16 to Chromophyta, 36 to Rotifera, 33 to Arthropoda, 4 to Annelida and 2 belong to Amphibia. All the determined taxa were firstly reported for this locality.

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, İzmir’in Menemen ilçesi sınırlarında yer alan Bozalan Gölü’nün biyolojik çeşitliliğinin taksonomik açıdan incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, 2001-2005 yılları arasındaki çeşitli tarihlerde gölde biyolojik örneklemeler yapılmış ve su numuneleri alınmıştır. Biyolojik örneklerin taksonomik yönden incelenmesi sonucunda Cyanophyta’ya ait 7, Chlorophyta’ya ait 24, Chromophyta’ya ait 16, Rotifera’ya ait 36, Arthropoda’ya ait 33, Annelida’ya ait 4 ve Amphibia’ya ait 2 olmak üzere toplam 122 takson tespit edilmiştir. Daha önce herhangi bir taksonomik çalışma yapılmamış olduğundan, tespit edilen bu türler Bozalan Gölü için yeni kayıt niteliği taşımaktadırlar
