İskenderun Körfezi'nde Bir Balıkçılık Sezonunda Kaybolan Sepet Tuzak Oranı ve Kayıp Nedenleri.

Abstract

Deniz ortamında kaybolan sepet, uzatma ağı gibi pasif av araçları kaybolduktan sonrada av yapmaya devam ederek kontrolsüz ölümlere neden olabilmektedir. Dünyada ne kadar av aracının kaybolduğu ve bunların ne kadar ölümlere neden olduğu ile ilgili net bir bilgi yoktur. Bu çalışmada, kuzeydoğu Akdeniz’in önemli bir balıkçılık alanı olan İskenderun Körfezi’nde, bir balıkçılık sezonunda balık avcılığında kullanılan sepet tuzaklardan ne kadarının kaybolduğu tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla körfezdeki 11 balıkçı barınağında anket çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar; körfez içinde sepet avcılığında kullanılan üç önemli av sahası olduğunu; bu alanlarda toplam 4741 sepet kullanıldığı ve sepetlerden 402 tanesinin (%8.47) bir sezonda kaybolduğunu göstermiştir. Kayıp nedenlerinin başında balıkçılar arasındaki ihtilaf gelmektedir. Bunu kötü hava koşulları ile terk etme izlemektedir
