Bream species offer good prospects as new species for aquaculture in Mediterranean. The aim of this work was evaluate the possibility of rearing white bream (Diplodus sargus) in a fibreglass tank. The experiment lasted 450 days (MayAugust) and was carried out at ambient water temperature. Fry were stocked at 49.4 fish m-3 in a 10-m-3-fibre glass tank. White bream showed a weight gain of 79.50 g, (from 1.76±0.5 g to 81.26±7.67 g.,) reaching to 15.53±0.60 cm average length (mean ± standard deviation; n=40) by the 15th month. At the end of the culture period the daily weight gain (0.176 g per fish day-1), the specific growth rate (0.851%), the feed conversion rate (1: 3.3) and survival rate (76%) were calculated.
