Öz

Nannochloropsis oculata, eicosapentaenoic asit EPA, 20:5(n-3) ve arachidonic asit ARA, 20:4(n-6) içeriğince zengin besin değerinden dolayı bir çok deniz balıkları kuluçkahanesinde larva yetiştiriciliğinde (rotifer üretiminde ve larva tanklarında) canlı mikroalg olarak yaygın şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, N. oculata karides larva beslenmesinde kullanılmamaktadır ve bu konu ile ilgili çalışmalar çok sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmadaki amaç N. oculata’nın Melicertus kerathurus larvalarının beslenmesinde tek başına besin olarak uygun olup olmayacağını karides kuluçkahanelerinde yaygın olarak kullanılan Chaetoceros calcitrans türü ile karşılaştırarak değerlendirmektir. Beş farklı (100, 150, 200, 250 ve 300 x 103 hücre/ml) yoğunlukta beslenen M. kerathurus larvalarının gelişim indeksleri ve yaşama oranları belirlenmiştir. Denemeler kontrol besini C. calcitrans ile beslenen larvaların %50’sinden fazlasının Myisis 1 olduğunda sonlandırılmıştır. Yaşama oranı kontrol grubunda %74.6 olarak gerçekleşmiş deneme gruplarında %27.3–40.6 arasında kaydedilmiştir. N. oculata ile beslenen larvaların gelişimlerinde C. calcitrans ile beslenenlere oranla kayda değer bir gerileme görülmüştür. Larval gelişim analizlerinde C. calcitrans ile beslenen larvaların ortalama gelişim indeksleri 3.7 ile Mysis 1’de sonuçlanırken deneme grubunda 2.0–2.3 arasında değişmiştir. Deneme gruplarında beslenme yoğunlukları ne olursa olsun yaşama oranları arasında fark bulunmazken (P > 0.05), 200 ve 250 x 103 hücre/ml yoğunlukta beslenen larvaların gelişim indeksleri 100, 150 ve 300 hücre/ml yoğunlukta beslenen larvalarınkinden daha büyük (P < 0.05) bulunmuştur
