Dünya ve Türkiye denizlerinde yassı balıkların (Pisces / Pleurronectiformes) önemi.

Öz

Pleuronectiformes ordosuna ait yassı balıklar tür sayıları ve balıkçılık potansiyelleri açısından dünya okyanus ve denizlerinde önemli bir kaynağı oluştururlar. İçerisinde barındırdığı ekonomik türlerin yıllık toplam av miktarı dünya genelinde 1.000.000 tona ulaşmaktadır. Yassı balıklar hem lezzet hem de fiyat yönünden diğer balıklara göre her zaman en önde yer almışlardır. Ayrıca yetiştiriciliği yapılan yassı balıkların toplam miktarı yetiştiricilik yolu ile üretilen toplam deniz balıklarının % 8’ni oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Pleuronectiformes ordosuna ait yassı balıkların av sahaları ve avlanma miktarları, yetiştiriciliği, işlenmesi ve tüketilme yöntemleri üzerine güncel bilgiler verilmektedir
