Özkan Canay was born in 1977 in Sakarya, Turkey. He has completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Sakarya. He graduated from Ankara University Computer Programming in 1996 and Sakarya University Industrial Engineering Department in 2002. In 2005, he completed his master's degree in Sakarya University, Department of Industrial Engineering. He is continuing his doctorate studies in the Department of Computer and Information Engineering at SAU Institute of Science. CANAY, who started working as a programmer in Sakarya University Information Technology Department in 1996, became a lecturer in 2002. He gave various informatics lessons at Sakarya Vocational School and Adapazarı Vocational School. His areas of expertise and interest are Computer Software, Internet Technologies, Database Management Systems, Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence.
Canay worked as University Web Administrator, System Administrator, Internet Software Development Group presidency, and Information Technology branch manager at Sakarya University, and worked as a developer and project manager in more than 50 software development processes. He also worked on ISO 9000 Quality Management System, Distance Education, IT Policies and software cooperation projects with Universities. He worked in the establishment of Sakarya University Computer Research and Application Center in 2005, and served as deputy director for six years and as director for two years in the same unit. Canay, who has been giving lectures at SAU Adapazarı Vocational School, which has been providing distance education over the Internet since its establishment, moved to SUBÜ Sakarya Vocational School, where Sakarya Applied Sciences University was established in 2018, and continues to teach informatics courses here.
