Abstract

Tutunma ve kayma hareketleri gösteren Patella türlerinin oluşturduğu mukus salgısı mikroorganizmalar için bir yapışma ortamıdır. Türlere göre mukus salgısının bakterilerin çoğalma potansiyellerine etkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmış, deniz suyundan izole edilen Vibrio fluvialis ve V. furnissii türleri Patella caerulea ve P. rustica mukusuna aşılanmıştır. Yapışma yoğunlukları karşılaştırmalı olarak kristal viyole ile boyanmış lamlarda ışık mikroskobu düzeyinde belirlenmiştir. Vibrio türlerinin mukus tercihleri Patella türlerine göre farklılık göstermiştir. Bu çalışma bulguları, Patella sp. mukus tabakasının kaya üzerinde denizel bakterilerin yerleşimi açısından önemini ve bu bakterilerin diğer organizmalar için uyarıcı etki oluşturabileceğini düşündürmektedir
