Ethics Committee Permission

In line with the decisions taken by Ulakbim TR Index, Ethics Committee Permission is required for studies to be published as of 2020. When uploading your study to our journal, you must also upload your Ethics Committee document along with your article file. If your study is not included in the working group that requires ethics committee approval, you must sign the declaration form stating this situation and indicate the relevant situation in your article text. Studies that require Ethics Committee Permission are listed below.

Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission

  • All kinds of research carried out with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
  • Use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
  • Clinical studies on humans,
  • Animal studies,
  • Retrospective studies in accordance with the personal data protection law.

    Moreover;
  • Statement that copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used
  • Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others,
  • In case reports, it should be stated that an “informed consent form” was obtained.


Note: Retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that were published before 2020, produced from postgraduate/doctoral studies (must be specified in the article), applied for publication to the journal in the previous year, and accepted but not yet published. Please indicate in the declaration form that your work has this status.

Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission and Accepted for Publication

In studies that require ethics committee permission, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) should be included in the method section and also on the last page of the article.

In case reports, it is necessary to include information that the informed consent/consent form was signed in the article.
