Some biological features of mediterranean toothcarp [(Aphanius fasciatus (Valenciennes, 1821)] caught from Gülbahçe Bay (Izmir Bay)

Abstract

In this study, some biological characteristics of a total of 173 Mediterranean toothcarp (Aphanius fasciatus) specimens caught from Gulbahçe bay (İzmir bay) were investigated. Female: male ratio was 1:0.12. Total length of the specimens varied between 13.5 and 63.9 mm. The length-weigth relationship equation was found as W=3.645*10-6 L3.40. Egg diameter and oil globule diameter were ranged from 1.00 to 2.25 mm and from 0.2 to 0.6 mm, respectively. Mature egg number and total egg numbers also varied from 100 to 263 eggs and from 498 to 1262 eggs, respectively.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Gülbahçe Koyu’ndan (İzmir Körfezi) yakalanan 173 adet dişli sazancık (Aphanius fasciatus) balığının bazı biyolojik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Dişi:erkek oranı 1:0.12 olarak saptanmıştır. Boyları 13.5-63.9 mm arasında değişen örneklerin boyağırlık ilişkisi W=3.645*10-6 L3.40 olarak bulunmuştur. Ortalama yumurta çapı 1.00-2.25 mm, yağ damlası çapı 0.2-0.6 mm arasında değişmiştir. Olgunlaşmış yumurta sayısının 100-263 adet, toplam yumurta sayısının ise 498-1262 adet arasında değiştiği saptanmıştır
