Abstract

Akuatik toksikoloji; ekotoksikoloji içerisinde yer alan ve endüstriyel kimyasallar, antropojenik ve doğal maddelerin akuatik organizmalara, populasyon ve ekosistemlere etkilerini hücre seviyesinden tüm vücut seviyesine kadar farklı aşamalarda inceleyen bir bilimdir. Su ve besin maddeleri yolu ile balıklarda ve diğer su canlılarında biriken zehirli maddeler hem bu canlılar, hem de tüketiciler için tehlike unsuru oluşturur. Su ürünlerinde bu yabancı maddelerin birikimi, hijyenik açıdan da çok önemlidir. Su ürünlerinde birikim yapan ve sağlık açısından tehlikeli olan maddeler denilince akla ilk sırada ağır metaller olmak üzere yağlar ve türevleri, pestisidler, deterjanlar, radyoaktif maddeler, poliklorlu bifeniller, antibiyotikler ve biyotoksinler gelir
