Yazar yardımlarından dolayı balıkçı Engin TUNÇ’a teşekkür eder.

The maximum length record of Atlantic Mackerel (Scomber scombrus Linnaeus, 1758) for Turkish Seas

Yıl 2020, Cilt: 2 Sayı: 2, 65 - 70, 31.12.2020

Öz

The information on maximum length, weight, and age of living things in an ecosystem are necessary for population dynamics and stock assessment studies. In this connection, a single specimen of Scomber scombrus with 34.8 cm in total length and 480.00 g in total weight was caught off Saros Bay to handline by a commercial fisherman on 08 April 2015. The proved length is the most new and largest maximum size record of S. scombrus for Turkish Seas.
