Pulmonary Edema May Be Mortal in End Stage Renal Failure: A Case Report

Öz

End-stage renal disease is a serious, global health problem, the incidence and prevalence of which have increased dramatically over the past 30 years. In renal failure, lung function abnormalities are quite common. Pulmonary edema, which can be seen in the course of both acute and chronic renal failure, is a frequent complication especially in patients with end-stage renal disease due to decreased immune response and changes in fluid homeostasis. The aim of this case report is; To present a picture that resulted in mortality due to pulmonary edema in a patient with end-stage renal disease receiving routine hemodialysis treatment.

Öz

Son dönem böbrek yetersizliği, insidansı ve prevalansı son 30 yılda dramatik bir şekilde artan ciddi, küresel bir sağlık sorunudur. Böbrek yetersizliğinde, akciğer fonksiyon bozuklukları oldukça sık görülmektedir. Hem akut hem de kronik böbrek yetersizliği seyrinde görülebilen pulmoner ödem, özellikle son dönem böbrek yetersizliği olan hastalarda da azalmış immün yanıt ve sıvı dengesindeki değişikliklere bağlı olarak sıklıkla görülen bir komplikasyondur. Bu olgu sunumunun amacı; son dönem böbrek yetersizliği olan ve rutin hemodiyaliz tedavisi gören bir hastada pulmoner ödem nedeniyle mortalite ile sonuçlanan bir tabloyu sunmaktır.
