Abstract

Abstract

Canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is one of the viral diseases that has affected especially young dogs since its discovery in 1967. It progresses with high morbidity and mortality due to the virus's affinity for rapidly dividing cells and its ability to transform into resistant variants. Regarding canine parvovirus infection, the literature describes hematological findings of the disease, kidney-liver enzymes, acute phase proteins, cytokines, acid-base disorders, fluid electrolyte levels, blood gases, intestinal disorder findings, lipid profiles, thyroxine and cortisol findings, coagulation profiles and cardiac biomarkers. Has been made. The aim of this review article is to examine parvovirus-infected dogs in terms of biochemical parameters, synthesize similar and different results, deficiencies that occur and what can be done biochemically, and compile information that may help the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of the disease.
