Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma kapsamında, kültürel olarak kullanımının yanı sıra, sağlıkla ilgili tüketimi COVID -19 pandemisi sürecinde sıkça gündeme gelen bir ürün olan “kolonya”nın tarihsel süreçteki gelişiminin, hem literatür hem de Türkiye’nin en eski üreticilerinden Sabahattin Tuncer’le yapılan derinlemesine görüşme bulguları doğrultusunda ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Kolonya ile ilgili yapılan literatür taramasına ek olarak, gerçekleştirilen derinlemesine görüşme ve kaynak incelemesi doğrultusunda içerikte yer alan ilgili kelimelerin sıkları belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra, elde edilen bulgular tematik olarak sınıflandırılarak sunulmuştur.
Bulgular: Derinlemesine görüşmeden (DG) elde edilen bulgular ve incelenen kitap bölümünde (KB) “kolonya”dan (%1,39 DG - %2,23 KB) sonra, sıklık açısından “koku”nun (%1,1 DG - %2,05 KB) geldiği görülmektedir. Hem görüşme hem de ilgili kitap bölümü; kolonya özelinde incelendiğinde; Tuncer’in ve ailesinin kolonyaya verdiği emek, kolonyanın üretim süreci, önemi ve kullanımı temaları ortaya çıkmaktadır.
Sonuç: Kolonyanın bugüne gelmesini sağlayan kişilerin gösterdikleri çabalarla, geleneksel değerine sahip çıkmak mümkün olmuş; özellikle toplumsal önem taşıyan olaylarda, temizlik alanında farklılaşan özelliği ile bu değer daha ileriye taşınmıştır. Gelecek dönemlerde, ürün ve marka çeşitliliğinin ve gelişen çalışmaların etkisiyle gerek Türkiye’de gerek dünyada, kolonyanın daha sık adı duyulan bir ürün olacağına inanılmaktadır.

Abstract

Objective: In this study, it is aimed to present the historical development of cologne through literature research and findings from indepth interview with Sabahattin Tuncer, who is one of the oldest manufacturers in Turkey, with cultural heritage and as well as health-related use during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Method: In addition to the literature search on cologne, the frequency of words is determined that is used in indepth interview and book review. Besides, these findings are classified thematically.
Findings: Findings obtained from indepth interview (DI) and book review (BR) have shown that following the “cologne” (%1.36 DI – %2,23 BR), “fragrance” is the second frequent word. It is revealed that both in the interview and the relevant book chapter; when examined specifically for cologne; it is seen that the great effort of Mr. Tuncer and his family, production process, and use of cologne as themes.
Discussion: Thanks to the efforts of the people who have made cologne to its present day, it has been possible to protect its traditional value, especially in socially important events, this value has been carried forward with its differentiating feature in the field of cleaning. In the future, with the effect of the product and brand diversity and the developed studies, we believe that cologne will be more often heard both in Turkey and in the world.
