Abstract

Bu çalışmada Burdur İli’ndeki buzağılarda saptanan
respiratuar sinsityal virus (BRSV) enfeksiyonları makroskobik, histopatolojik
ve immunohistokimyasal bulgularıyla detaylı olarak incelendi. Solunum
immuno-pozitif alanlara rastlandı. Bu çalışmanın amacı;

Pathological and Immunohistochemical Studies in Respiratory Cyncitial Virus (BRSV) Infection in Calves

Year 2017, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 131 - 138, 29.12.2017

Abstract

In this study, bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) infections of calves were examined
in detail with macroscopic, microscopic and immunohistochemical findings in Burdur province.
At necropsy of calves that died from respiratory findings and immunohistochemically BRSV
diagnosed, dark red and hard areas in the cranio-ventral lobes grossly. Foamy and mucopurulent
exudate was leaking from the cross-sections of these areas. Microscopically, findings of interstitial
and broncho-interstitial pneumonia were observed in the lung sections. At the pneumonic
areas, marked characteristic syncytial cells and intra cytoplasmic inclusion bodies were seen
in some bronchiolar and bronchial epithelial cells. Immunohistochemically, immuno-positive
areas were seen in the bronchial, bronchiolar and alveolar epithelial cells and the cytoplasm of
inflammatory cells especially syncytial cells. The aim of this study was detailed presentation of
macroscopical, microscopical and immunohistochemical findings of BRSV disease in calves
which cause serious economic losses in Burdur province.
