FUTBOLCULARDA CORE KUVVETİ, FONKSİYONEL HAREKET TARAMASI VE DİNAMİK DENGENİN YARALANMA HİKÂYESİ ÜZERİNE ETKİLERİ

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 25 - 32, 29.12.2023

Abstract

EFFECTS OF CORE STRENGTH, FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENING AND DYNAMIC BALANCE ON INJURY HISTORY IN FOOTBALL PLAYERS

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 25 - 32, 29.12.2023

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Purpose: It is known that muscle injuries are quite common in soccer players. Predicting these injuries and taking precautions before the injury occurs is very important for both athletes and physiotherapists and coaches. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Functional movement screening, Y balance test and core strength on sports injury in soccer players.
Methods: A total of 74 amateur league soccer players in Denizli province were voluntarily included in the study. Functional movement screening, Y balance test and core strength measurements were taken by experienced physiotherapists. Injury history was questioned with an injury form.
Results: Right shoulder mobility (p=0.028 O.R: 3.033) and left rotation stability (p=0.045 O.R: 3.443) in Functional movement screening, left posteromedial (p=0044 O.R: 1.055), left posterolateral (p=0.029 O. R: 1.055) and posterolateral asymmetry (p=0.014 O.R: 0.300), and right and left bird dog parameters in core strength (p=0.017 O.R: 1.091 and p=0.008 O.R: 1.134).
Conclusion: As a result of our study, Y balance parameters, all values of core strength and Functional movement screening parameters of cross-stepping, shoulder mobility, rotation stability and active straight leg raising right parameter positively affect sports injury history. It is thought that physiotherapists, trainers and athletic coaches can develop safer procedures to prevent injuries in the training and physical education of soccer players by considering the results of this study.
