Micrococcus luteus’un Bazı Gram pozitif Balık Patojenlerine Karşı Etkisinin Araştırılması

Year 2016, Volume: 9 Issue: 2, 74 - 79, 01.06.2016

Abstract

The investigation of Micrococcus luteus Against Some Gram positive Fish Bacteria

Year 2016, Volume: 9 Issue: 2, 74 - 79, 01.06.2016

Abstract

Micrococcus luteus is a Gram positive bacterium that is used as probiotic for the prevention of bacterial diseases in fish health. The aim of this study is the determination of probiotic suitability of M. luteus in the control of Gram positive bacteria which cause diseases in the cultured rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) under in vitro conditions. Gram positive bacteria namely Staphylococcus cohnii subsp. cohnii, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Lactococcus garvieae ve Enterococcus faecalis which were isolated from rainbow trout, were used as pathogen microorganisms. The antagonistic effect of M. luteus isolated from cultured dentex (Dentex dentex) and made pathogenity test for cultured rainbow trout against these bacteria was tested by using disc diffusion method and while M. luteus produced wide inhibition zones against S. aureus, S.epidermidis and S.cohnii subsp. cohnii, less antagonistic effect was determined against L. garvieae and E. faecalis. With this study, antagonistic effect of M. luteus against members of the Gram positive bacterial genus Staphylococcus was determined for the first time.
