Tachogenerator DC Motor Speed Control with PID and Fuzzy Logic

Abstract

In this study, closed loop speed control of a
DC motor was performed using PID and fuzzy logic control methods. The speed
information of the DC motor was taken from the tachogenerator and was
transferred to Arduino Due microcontroller card with feedback. Experimental
results showing the performance of the control systems were obtained by
plotting in Matlab program of the data received via the serial port of the
Arduino IDE program. These two control methods have been compared in terms of
performance criteria such as rise time, sitting time and steady state error.
