Abstract

In this study, heavy metal accumulation in the mantle, gill and gonad tissues of male and female cuttlefish catched from Iskenderun Bay were determined. The orders of Al, Cu, Mn and Zn levels were found to be Mantle> Gonad> Gill, it was Gill> Gonad> Mantle for Fe. The highest concentration of accumulation in all tissues was observed for Cu whereas minimum concentrated heavy metal was Mn.
