Abstract

Literacy is determined as to know how to write and read in the 20th century and it is one of the development criteria for the countries. Recently literacy includes visual, computer, health, and technology literacy beside traditional literacy. These concepts turn out as ‘media literacy’. This study presents literature review about determination of media literacy and the process of media message interpretation.

MEDYA OKUR-YAZARLIĞI VE MESAJLARIN ANLAMLANDIRMA SÜRECİ

Abstract

20. yüzyılda okur-yazarlık, nasıl okunup yazılacağını bilmek olarak tanımlan­maktaydı, hatta ülkelerin gelişmişlik düzeyleri, okuma-yazma bilen nüfus ile orantılı olarak belirtilmekteydi. Günümüzde ise okur-yazarlık, geleneksel okur-yazarlığın yanı sıra görsel, bilgisayar, sağlık ve teknoloji okur-yazarlığını da içermektedir, böylece bu kavramlar birleşerek 'medya okur-yazarlığı' kavramını oluşturmaktadır. Bu ça­lışma, medya okur-yazarlığının tanımlanması ve medya mesajlarının yorumlanması sürecini yansıtan genel bir alanyazın taraması sunmaktadır.
